Born in the Hague, the dutch flutist and composer, Floor Polder started playing music from her 10th. Years later, she toured in Suriname playing tenorsax, piccolo and being the lead singer with the VHJO Youth Big Band.
She studied flute at the University Codarts for music in Rotterdam where she graduated in 2013 in Latin Music.

She played in the groups like Trio Sodade and Savoy Room where she did shows in places such as de Doelen, het Bimhuis, Jazz Festival Delft, Breda Jazz festival, Big Rivers, Summertime festival, Jazz’in de gracht and the grachtenfestival in Amsterdam.
She also played with artists like Geraldo Rosales, Ronald Snijders, Lilian Vieira (zuco 103), Dina Medina and Toy Vieira.
After touring in Brazil with the Band Trio Sodade, she decided to do a Master in music at the UFRJ university in Rio de Janeiro. She created a method about improvisation in Brazilian music with elements of jazz. that is published on youtube with a series of 9 videos.
In Brazil she recorded with Bebê Kramer, Marco Lobo, Alberto Rosenblit, Pedro Guinu and Pedro Franco. After releasing her debut album with her own composition together with Rudá Brauns, she created the show Brisa Carioca.
She also plays with the group Banda Fulô and has a DUO with Elizabeth Fadel called ‘Casa das Flores’.
