Bio

Born in the Hague, the dutch flutist and singer Floor Polder started playing music from her 10th . When she was 15 years old she played in the VHJO Youth Big Band where she was the lead singer, tenor player and piccolo player. They went on a tour to Suriname in 2015. After finishing a preparation year in Jazz at the University in Utrecht HKU for flute she studied at the University Codarts for music in Rotterdam where she graduated in 2013 in Latin Music. She worked in the groups; Banda Fulô, Trio Sodade and Savoy Room where she did shows in Theaters and festivals like de Doelen, het Bimhuis, Jazz Festival Delft, Breda Jazz festival, Big Rivers, Summertime festival, Jazz in de gracht and the grachtenfestival in Amsterdam.

She also played with artists like Geraldo Rosales, Ronald Snijders, Lilian Vieira (zuco 103), Dina Medina and Toy Vieira. After doing a Tour in Brazil with the Band Trio Sodade, she decided to do a master at the UFRJ university in Rio de Janeiro which started in 2019 until 2022. She created a method about improvisation in Brazilian music with elements of jazz. that she published on youtube with a series of 9 videos.

In Brazil she recorded with Bebê Kramer, Alberto Rosenblit, Pedro Guniu and has a duo album with Rudá Brauns that will be released in October 2022. She is working on a solo album with the songs of Egberto Gismonti that will be released in 2023.
